What we collect when you submit a request, what we do with it, who sees it, and how to have it removed.

What we collect
You give us: your name, email address, an optional phone number, the topic you select, and whatever you write in the message field. If you describe symptoms, that description is health-related information and we treat it as sensitive.
We collect automatically: the technical data needed to serve the site — IP address, browser and device type, pages viewed, and the time of the request.
We do not buy personal information about you from data brokers.
How we use it
To answer your request, to send you the message types you ticked, to reply when you contact us, and to keep the site working and secure. We do not use what you send us for advertising and we do not build a profile of you.
Who we share it with
We do not sell or rent your personal information, and we do not share your phone number or your SMS consent with third parties or affiliates for their own marketing. We do not pass your details to dental practices.
We share data only with the service providers who process it on our behalf under contract — hosting, email and SMS delivery — and where the law requires it.
Health-related information
If you describe a symptom or a treatment, that is health-related information about you. Dental Care Finder is not a healthcare provider, health plan or clearinghouse, so it is not a HIPAA covered entity; what you send us is protected by this policy and by applicable state law rather than by HIPAA. Please do not send us more clinical detail than your question needs.
Your choices and rights
You can ask us for a copy of what we hold, ask us to correct it, ask us to delete it, reply STOP to stop text messages, and unsubscribe from email. Deletion removes your details from our production systems; backups age out on a rolling 30-day cycle.
Depending on where you live you may have further rights — to know, to access, to correct, to delete, to limit the use of sensitive information, and not to be discriminated against for exercising them. Ask and we will honour them, wherever you are.
How long we keep it
Requests and the correspondence about them: two years, unless you ask us to delete them sooner. Records we must keep for legal or accounting reasons: as long as the law requires.
Cookies
Only what the site needs to work. No advertising cookies and no third-party trackers that follow you elsewhere.
Security
Data is encrypted in transit and at rest, access is limited to the people who need it, and administrative access is logged. No system is perfectly secure; if a breach affects you we will tell you promptly and say what we know.
Children
This service is not intended for anyone under 18 and we do not knowingly collect information from children. A parent may of course ask a question about their child's dental care. If you believe a child has given us information, write to us and we will delete it.
